Dear Friends of the Society for Turkish Classical Music,

We are now coming to the end of our current series of classes with Timuçin Hoca. The refinements Hoca has made to the form and curriculum this session has provided us with an experience that has surpassed expectations all around. The effectiveness of this online format for conveying the subtleties of the music, as well as the individualized instruction opportunities, have given us a way to further our knowledge and progress in our studies to an extent probably none of us anticipated. We are indeed fortunate to have benefited from this increase of knowledge and appreciation for the great tradition Hoca is bringing to us with the intention of preserving and continuing.

Without the commitment of this wonderful community of musicians and lovers of the tradition, this experience would not have been possible. In a very tangible way, we have held each other up and been able to come together in sustaining the necessary elements for these classes to occur. Your financial support through the suggested class fees has been a critical component and as a result of extra generosity shown by some, scholarship assistance has been provided to all those who have requested it. If you have been paying week by week and have not taken the opportunity to verify that your payments to date reflect your participation, please be in touch and we can provide any necessary information. If you are fortunate to be in a position to make an additional contribution and wish to do so, this would be welcomed and used to strengthen the foundation that the next series of classes could be offered from and the mission of STCM be furthered.

We will take a recess following the completion of this class series but will be in planning with Hoca for a subsequent series to be offered in the new year, and will share news and proposed schedules as soon as they are determined. Please feel free to share feedback from the current series that may be considered to help improve what is offered.
